ABOUT ME

My name is Andrea Arizmendi, and I I was born in Mexico City. Since I was little I was always curious about design, and specially I was particulary  obsessed with color. As a girl I used to find completely entertaining finding and matching beautiful color combinations which lead me to realize I really had to take advantage in some way to all I was expressing of myself through this beautiful combinations.

When I was about to get to College, it was easy for me to choose Design. I studied Graphic Design in Universidad Iberoamericana (Autum 2003- Autum 2007) with a minor in Visual Arts were I learned different painting techniques, engraving art, sculpture, and diferent type of arts and expressions which was a perfect compliment to the digital design and graphics.

As I graduated from college I knew I wanted to grow as a designer and learn more, but also I find out graphic design in the mayority of cases was focused in advertising and publishing which was not really what I thought I wanted . I wanted to explore design in different areas, and it was in November 2009 when I joined the team of Six Flags Mexico where I had the opportunity to participated in the maintenance department as the head supervisor for the Image´s Park team. This work was extremly pleasant for me because I was able to express myself as a designer just as I wanted. Signage, building façades, parasol design, environmental design, logo design, photography, architectorial and even gardening supervision, were part of my everyday tasks. But, it was later on in my career, when I decided to give a turn to what I was doing and try with textile design.

It was in august 2012 when I joined Bari Swimwear. There I was in charge of designing unique and exclusive fabric patterns for their new bikini and bathing suit collections. It was there were I felt I could feel more into the field of color and color combination as I´ve always wanted, and I was able to explore this area as I had never done before.

After that, I decided to give freelance design a shot and that is what I´ve been doing for the past few years. Through, this years I´ve had the oportunity to work with different clients, from global commercial corporations, to design studios, well-know restaurants and brands, to small start-ups and individuals.

I´ve been extremely fortunate and couldn´t be more happy for what I´ve lived and experienced professionally, but more specifically, I know that every talent and gift comes from above, that is why I´ll always be grateful with God, because I know He loves me and He is the giver of all (Habakkuk 3:18).
